Today, we used Employee Appreciation Day at ASP to say thank you to our employees.  

As a small token of appreciation, a sweet surprise was waiting for them at their desks.  

What an impressive achievement by the Robotics Club of Gymnasium BZM Markdorf at the RoboCup in South Korea! 🚀🤖

The two teams, Bodensee Dogs and Bodensee Adler, accomplished something truly remarkable through dedication, technical excellence, and outstanding teamwork:
🏆 Bodensee Adler were crowned World Champions
🥈 Bodensee Dogs became Runners-up and also received the Technical Challenge Award

These successes are the result of passion, hard work, innovative thinking, and exceptional team spirit — and they deserve the highest respect.

Did you know when the last human was on the Moon? That’s right: 1972.

Through NASA’s Artemis program, humans are set to return to the Moon in the coming years. Last night (00:35 a.m. CEST), an important milestone of the Artemis II mission was successfully reached. 

ASP technology is on board:
Our two star tracker converters supply power to our customer Jena-Optronik’s star sensor.
The star sensor is a camera that measures the orientation of specific stars relative to a satellite’s current position. Therefore, the star tracker is crucial for alignment with the Sun as well as for orbital corrections.

ℹ️ In the current Artemis II mission, the Moon is being orbited by a crewed space capsule to prepare for humanity’s return to the lunar surface. On board are four astronauts. We congratulate on this outstanding success!

Did you know? In Greek mythology, Artemis is the goddess of the Moon and the twin sister of Apollo. Artemis therefore also symbolically represents the next generation of lunar missions.

At ASP Equipment GmbH, the fourth flight model of the CPSU is ready for delivery for the Galileo mission. This is an important milestone for our team and for a project that makes Europe more technologically independent.  

That’s why today, we celebrated – in true down-to-earth fashion – with drinks and generously topped Bavarian pretzels. 
A big thank you to all colleagues for their outstanding effort and dedication. Achievements like this are the result of true teamwork.

ℹ️ What is a CPSU?
The Centralized Power Supply Unit (CPSU) is the satellite’s central power system. It distributes, regulates, and monitors electrical energy and ensures the satellite’s power supply. 

ℹ️ What is the Galileo mission about?
Europe’s own global satellite navigation system makes the continent more technologically independent. It provides highly precise positioning and timing data for navigation, aviation, infrastructure, and many other applications worldwide. 

For more than 20 years, Advanced Space Power Equipment has stood for one thing: Reliable power – where it matters most: in space.

Today, we are opening a new chapter: ASP is becoming part of funds advised by SEVEST Management GmbH.

Yesterday, ASP Equipment GmbH once again hosted its now well-established Newcomer Event. 🚀

In the welcoming atmosphere of Restaurant Reck’s, an open and engaging dialogue emerged among more than ten new colleagues — and, of course, with our management team as well. The focus was on getting to know one another, having honest conversations, and truly arriving as part of the team.

Alongside gaining authentic feedback on the onboarding experience, we placed strong emphasis on embracing fresh perspectives. These impulses help us continuously improve what we do and remain open to new ways of thinking.

The evening concluded with an excellent shared dinner, providing plenty of space for personal and informal exchange. 🍽️

We are very pleased to have delivered the FM3 CPSU for the Galileo mission to our customer today — a great conclusion to an intense year!

The CPSU (Central Power Supply Unit) is a key onboard element: it is responsible for power distribution, regulation, and monitoring, ensuring the reliable operation of the satellite’s subsystems.

The Galileo mission, Europe’s global satellite navigation system, stands for the highest levels of precision and reliability. We are therefore especially proud to contribute to this important infrastructure with our hardware.

On December 12, 2025, we celebrated our annual Christmas party at Reck’s Hotel-Restaurant – a wonderful evening to look back together on a challenging yet very successful year.

Alongside inspiring conversations as well as fun activities and games, enjoyment was of course not neglected: excellent food, good drinks, and above all plenty of time for joyful celebration made the evening truly special.

A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for the outstanding commitment, team spirit, and passion with which we mastered this year. We look forward to carrying this spirit into the new year! 🚀

On 30.09.2025, ASP Equipment GmbH, together with our customers, successfully completed the Delivery Review Board (DRB) for the Power Conditioning Unit (PCU) and the Power Distribution Unit (PDU) of Flight Model 01 which will be installed on Nasa´s GRACE-C satellite.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the teams of JPL and Airbus Defence and Space GmbH for the successful meeting, the constructive collaboration, and the trust placed in us.

🔧 PCU & PDU – the core of the satellite’s power supply:

• The PCU ensures the conversion and regulation of the energy from the solar arrays and batteries, providing a stable supply voltage – even under the extreme conditions in orbit.
• The PDU takes care of the distribution and switching of electrical power to the various subsystems and payloads of the satellite.
• Together, PCU and PDU form the “backbone” of the electrical power supply – and thus make a key contribution to the reliability of the mission.

🌍 About GRACE-C:

The GRACE-C mission (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment – Continuation) continues the success story of GRACE and GRACE-FO. Two satellites flying in formation measure the smallest changes in the Earth’s gravity field. These data provide groundbreaking insights into global developments such as: the retreat of glaciers and ice sheets, changes in groundwater and freshwater storage, and the long-term rise in sea level.
