The KOMPSAT 7 (KOrean Multi Purpose SATellite) satellite is designed to provide high resolution imagery for precise Earth observation from low polar Earth orbit. The satellite is equipped with a very precise optical imaging camera and a high-resolution infrared sensor, which enables it to observe fires, volcanic activity and urban heat islands during day and night and under all weather conditions. It has 24 high precision power outputs, as well as a TM\/TC interface and regulated heater outputs.
