ASP successfully delivers four High Voltage Power Supplies for Astro-H Mission
ASP finished with the Delivery Review Board of the last Flight Module, one year of intensive work in the frame of the Astro-H Mission. The Astro-H is a X-ray astronomy satellite developed by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) in close collaboration with NASA and whose launch is planned in 2015. One of the instruments on-board the ASTRO-H spacecraft will be a Soft X-ray Spectrometer (SXS), including a Filter Wheel with x-ray calibration sources, which is developed by the Netherlands Institute for Space Research (SRON) and University of Geneva in cooperation with the European Space Agency (ESA).
The Delivery Review Board was held in ASP-Equipment facilities in Salem with the participation of representantives from SRON, ESA and JAXA, with whom ASP has established a fruitful and very cooperative relationship.
The High Voltage Power Supplies provided by ASP will be used for the x-ray calibration sources on the filter wheel. This specifically designed High Voltage Power Supplies are capable to provide two switchable outputs up to -11,3 KV from an Input Signal of 10 V and are equipped with several protection functions such as OVP and OVC as well as Monitoring Signals. The mass of this state-of the-art HV Unit is below 350 gr.
