On 30.09.2025, ASP Equipment GmbH, together with our customers, successfully completed the Delivery Review Board (DRB) for the Power Conditioning Unit (PCU) and the Power Distribution Unit (PDU) of Flight Model 01 which will be installed on Nasa´s GRACE-C satellite.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the teams of JPL and Airbus Defence and Space GmbH for the successful meeting, the constructive collaboration, and the trust placed in us.
🔧 PCU & PDU – the core of the satellite’s power supply:
- The PCU ensures the conversion and regulation of the energy from the solar arrays and batteries, providing a stable supply voltage – even under the extreme conditions in orbit.
- The PDU takes care of the distribution and switching of electrical power to the various subsystems and payloads of the satellite.
- Together, PCU and PDU form the “backbone” of the electrical power supply – and thus make a key contribution to the reliability of the mission.
🌍 About GRACE-C:
The GRACE-C mission (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment – Continuation) continues the success story of GRACE and GRACE-FO. Two satellites flying in formation measure the smallest changes in the Earth’s gravity field. These data provide groundbreaking insights into global developments such as: the retreat of glaciers and ice sheets, changes in groundwater and freshwater storage, and the long-term rise in sea level.
