ASP-NEWSThe ASP ITAR-free 12W COTS-Converter8. December 2014

ASP´s latest product innovation, the ITAR-free 12W COTS converter, has its first mission in space on the ATV-5 “Georges Lemaitre” (Autonomous Transfer Vehicle).

After the perfect launch of Ariane 5 on July 29th 2014, ATV-5 is on its way to the International Space Station (ISS). During the docking maneuver of the ATV-5 the ASP-converter powers the „LIRIS-2″ (Laser InfraRed Imaging Sensor) from Jena-Optronik GmbH, Germany. This sensor-prototype on ATV-5 was developed for Airbus Defence & Space on behalf of the European Space Agency ESA.

The ASP ITAR-free 12W COTS-Converter features now Technology Readiness Level 9 (TRL-9) which is a clear statement for successful space technology
